Singer-songwriter Lisa Mitchell grew up in the country, along the Murray River, in an area that’s drought stricken and fire-prone. So she knows what it's like to live with the threat of bushfires.
Her family was touched by the 2009 Victorian bushfires and for this reason she wanted to send a message of support in Red Cross’ After The Emergency MP3s. Her song, Neopolitan Dreams, also features on the MP3 players.
After spending the last year performing throughout the UK and other destinations, Lisa knows what it’s like to have to learn how to deal with big changes. And while travelling the world sounds glamorous and exciting (well, of course it is!), Lisa has had to cope with living out of suitcases and being away from her family and friends. Sometimes life on the road is exhausting and she's learnt a lot about working under pressure, how to look after herself and the importance of rest.
Lisa just spent January touring with the Big Days Out and even managed a top-10 finish in Triple J's Hottest 100! In February, she's heading back to the UK to continue playing and creating new tunes for us to enjoy. We wish her safe travels and look forward to the next stage of her rising career.
